OPEN BURNING REGULATIONS
- You must have a permit for any open burning. You can apply for a permit by:
- Open fires are allowed between 12:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
- No burning is allowed on Sundays
- The proper time to burn is:
- When air quality code is green or yellow
(no burning allowed when air quality code is orange, red, or purple)
- Following a rain when the wind is calm
- After grasses are green and hardwood leaves are mature
- Items that are allowed to be burned in an open fire:
- Leaves
- Grass clippings
- Ground clearing vegetative debris
- Small branches
- Other permitted vegetative matter
NOTE: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL ANYTHING
OTHER THAN PLANT GROWTH BE BURNED
